How To Fly On A Plane With Fish You Caught

It is surprisingly easy to travel with fresh fish you caught on a trip. You don't even need to freeze it, but I would suggest it for travel in case you get stuck at the airport.

You can place it in either your carry on or checked bag. Make sure the fish is carefully sealed in clear bags and the cooler is sealed/leak proof.

You'll want to use gel freezer packs and no ice. 5lb's of dry ice is allowed but your bag has to be marked "dry ice" and vented. Gel packs and a cooler work great.

Depending on the country you are flying to there may be stricter rules but flying domestic in the US with fresh fish is easy. Or any food for that matter.
